MAC Extravaganza held on Sun, 22 Jan 2006 at the
MAC Club, Rietvlei, Cape Town

Saturday during warm-ups we saw some impressive moves from a lot of riders. The scene was set for an awesome competition on Sunday.

This one was a sleepover, we had a good turnout and a great party on Saturday night, some stayed up late until the early hours of the morning doing their best to empty every bottle in the bar and socialising with other wakeboarders. Thanks to the MAC club for a great bar facility and low-priced drinks.

Thanks to Andrew Bourne and Sony for bring the hi-powered sound HONDA, really good stuff man, I must get sound like that for my boat!

Special mention goes to Jacque, Steve and co who bravely downed a full glass of Apple Sours, and to everyone else who failed to tell them they were supposed to ask for shot glasses. To the guys who climbed the flagpole, better luck next time. To the dude who ran naked across the front of the vlei and later slept on the water's edge, you were very brave to get up for the comp the next day. And thanks to the two ladies who did a great pole-dance on Saturday night!

Oh and the braai was also good . . .

On Sunday morning after a great farmhouse breakfast at the Clubhouse, semi-sober wakeboarders bravely woke up to compete. Strong wind messed up the water, so it was decided to spend the day hitting the two sliders (thanks to Garth for building the sliders). Some great slider moves from a lot of the guys in very choppy water, with Nick BM busting up his wakeboard after a bad landing. Luckily, there was only one injury the whole weekend, and that went to Wayne Macey who sustained a heavy bite to the earlobe from another affectionate wakeboarder . . .

A great day was had by all, lots of fun in the sun and lots of new friends and wakeboarders. Next time we may even have the competition. Thanks to all who attended and showed support, keep checking back here for news and updates about future events.
